Mushrooms and Mice
Wednesday 30th October - Mushrooms and Mice
Join Emily from Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership for a fun-filled session discovering some of nature’s autumnal activities at Godinton.
Morning workshop: 10am - 12:30pm
Afternoon workshop: 2pm - 4pm
We will start with a Monster Mushroom Hunt - a scavenger hunt around the Godinton Gardens searching for signs of our native fungi. You’ll have to keep a sharp eye out to find dead man’s fingers, jelly ear and stinkhorn (no actual mushroom touching will take place!).
After a hot drink and warm up, you will become Hazel’s Hideaway Helpers, where you will learn about some of the creatures that are getting ready to hibernate, and will make your very own felt dormouse, complete with a nest to take home.
This workshop is suitable for children aged 7 and over. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets cost £3 per child.
If you are bringing any children under the age of 4, please email education@godintonhouse.co.uk and let us know so that we can account for numbers.
A selection of hot and cold drinks will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own snacks.
Please note: at this time the gardens will not be open for visiting. This event will be held in the tearoom and will include a guided scavenger hunt around the gardens.
