Dogs are not allowed in the house, garden or Ticket Office area, but can be taken on leads around the conservation walk.  Assistance dogs are permitted.

Is Godinton family friendly?

We welcome all families, but ask that accompanying adults supervise children carefully in the gardens to keep them safe, especially around the water features marked on the map which can be downloaded from our website, and printed copies can be obtained from the Ticket Office.

There is a grass area between the two car parks where families can picnic and children can play with adult supervision.

In the formal gardens we ask that children do not play ball games, climb trees or bring scooters etc.

Many children enjoy the tour of the house, and guides try to engage them in their tours, however, some children find that an hour can be too long!

How big are the gardens?

There are twelve acres of formal gardens set over different levels, which include a Rose Garden, Italian Garden and a large Walled Garden with fruit and vegetables, cut flowers and three greenhouses. A map of the gardens is available to download from our website.

Are there walks around the Estate?

Yes, there is a Conservation Walk that circles the house and garden using public footpaths and permissive paths. A map can be downloaded from our website. The walk is approximately 3 kilometres  but can be split into shorter sections from the car park. Please note our car park is only available for visitors with tickets to the house or gardens.

Can I download a map before I visit?

A map of the gardens is available to download from our website. A guidebook with information about the house, gardens and wider estate is available to purchase from the Ticket Office.
