Jive in the Garden: The Swingtones - 11th June Jive in the Garden: The Swingtones - 11th June Open air jive and swing band charity music night in aid of Dandelion Time charity.

Miss Holiday & The Swingtones are a 5-piece Jump Jive & Swing band bringing to the stagethe very best classics of the 40’s & 50’s plus their vintage interpretations of modern songs! Fronted by Miss Holiday Swing, a well-known face on the Vintage Scene and sort aftervocalist, her mesmerising vocals will transport you straight back to the Old Hollywood Era. Just back from their packed-out performance at Rye International Jazz Festival, Miss Holiday& The Swingtones will entertain from start to finish with their vast repertoire appealing to allage groups and music tastes!

Funds raised from ticket sales for this music event will be donated to Dandelion Time. Dandelion Time is a local nature-based charity that gives early support to children who have suffered from traumatic experiences such as domestic abuse and neglect. We help them overcome their emotional and behavioural issues to build self-esteem and confidence, and cope better at home, at school and in life.

Bring along picnics from 6pm, ready for a 7pm performance.

Jazz in the Garden: Metro Vipers - 18th June Jazz in the Garden: Metro Vipers - 18th June Our popular jazz evening returns!

Returning favourites, The Metro Vipers, are the trio that packs a punch, playing a mix of gypsy jazz, swing and latin, with some rock 'n roll thrown in for good measure!

We are pleased to be welcoming back the team from Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership (KSCP) to run three exciting family workshops at Godinton this Easter.

These workshops are suitable for all ages. All ticket prices also include entry to our gardens, where you can spend the afternoon enjoying the Spring flowers and children can complete our FREE Spring trail with a prize at the end! The gardens are open from 12:30pm until 5:30pm. 

 

Flow into Spring!

Discover the secrets of new life bubbling under the surface of the River Stour on the Godinton Estate. Learn how mini-beasts start their life underwater with a river dipping workshop, followed by a clay crafting session to make your very own river creature.

Please note: The river-dipping will take place away from the main gardens and facilities, around a 15 minute walk on footpaths that are not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

Join one of our craft sessions this Easter to create your own woodland animal Spring collage on a canvas to take home with you. Let your imagination and creativity go wild as you use an assortment of card, paper, flowers and other embellishments to layer up your canvas to make your Spring scene.

These family sessions are suitable for all ages although very young children may require assitance with scissors and cutting. Sessions last 45 minutes.

All ticket prices also include entry to our gardens, where you can spend the afternoon enjoying the Spring flowers and children can complete our FREE Spring trail with a prize at the end! The gardens are open from 12:30pm until 5:30pm.

The Ashley Dodd family, who resided at Godinton House from 1895 to 1917, were a prominent fixture in British society during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Known for their considerable wealth, they were key philanthropists, contributing to numerous charitable causes and social initiatives. Their influence extended across all levels of British society, from the aristocracy to the working class. On 30 April 2025, discover the family’s legacy during a talk delivered by House Intern, Adam Gadie.

This talk will last approximately 1 hour (45 minutes talking, 15 minutes for Q&A).
